The Italian edition.

What emerges when the public account of the Moro case is compared with the documents on which it should rest? Laporta develops his critique of institutional accounts by examining testimony, Moro’s letters, the investigation of his death, and the international setting.

Paolo Guzzanti’s foreword introduces the inquiry. The opening chapter gives readers an opportunity to assess the argument, its cited sources, and the conclusions the author proposes.

Raffiche di bugie a via Fani

Stato e BR sparano su Aldo Moro
Italian-language edition · ISBN 9798385587193

The starting point is the morning of March 16, 1978. Laporta reexamines accounts of the ambush, witness testimony, and Moro’s letters, exploring the relationship between the killing of the security detail and the kidnapping of the statesman.

The inquiry proceeds through three stages: a critique of established accounts, an analysis of the letters and anagrams, and the author’s proposed reconstruction of the events. It introduces a line of research developed further in Omertà e bugie su Aldo Moro.

Moro’s letters and the continuing inquiry

The research on anagrams examines the relationship between the wording of the letters, the readings developed by the author, and external documentary evidence. In his 2026 international press release, Laporta describes material submitted to the judicial authorities and calls for independent scientific examination.
