Islam e Vaticano, la strana coppia

#islamnonmifido Le improvvisate esternazioni sulle strategie vagamente militari – “Fermare, non bombardare” – hanno infine vulnerato profondamente la credibilità del pontefice, mettendo in ombra il contributo del Vaticano alla Carta dell’ONU nonché la legittimità non solo del Capitolo 6 (Soluzione pacifica delle controversie) ma anche del Capitolo 7 (Azione rispetto alle minacce alla pace, alle violazioni della pace ed agli atti di aggressione) della Carta, per l’applicazione giusta della forza al fine di ristabilire il diritto dei popoli. Occorreva, a tale riguardo, tenere a mente il discorso di benedetto XVI all’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite, il 18 aprile 2008, nel corso del quale sottolineò il diritto e il dovere di protezione gravante su tutte le strutture delle NU, da cui deriva ben più che la semplice interposizione armata. Francis where are You going?

Instead of posing for TV cameras while he eats at Saint Martha’s (the Pontiff’s preferred dining hall), if he is unable to give life to an international mobilization, Francis should at least go to the fields and dining tents, there, in the desert, where his priests and nuns are improvising messing and refugee tents with those few supplies they have left.
If he fears for his life he is right, and has good reason to fear, given what has happened to thousands of our brethren in the meantime. Yet, it would be more dignified to leave the scene as bishop in the field than as Pope Francis in hiding. Continua a leggere→

Francis, You are the Shepherd

Holiness, the Holy Word from the window is not enough any more, nor the silence, and even less the appeals to the Muslim brethren. None of these is any longer sufficient because rivers of blood are flowing and the voice if the Church goes unheeded where these human beings are dying, just as in the schools, in our parliaments, in homes, in workplaces, in all those numberless places in the world from which the Crucifix has been driven away just like the herd of sheep today scattered in the Iraqi desert.
